And yet it never once occurred to the BJ's staff to let us into the store, as often as we helpfully suggested it to the staffers who would come out and serve cold Snapple on a freezing day (thanks a lot). They would ask who needed to buy a book or membership, whisk them inside, then whisk them right back out into the line. Not even when the store actually opened would they let us in.
BJ's FAIL.
The only good thing was that there were a few protesters out there with stupid signs, and we could enjoy the thought that they were as cold and wet as we were.
We were a bunch of frozen popsicles when Sarah's van pulled up, but still managed a rather weak cheer. Caught a glimpse of Todd carrying Trig, and tons of security people. (No eggs or tomatoes this time!) Ten minutes AFTER that, they finally let us in. As we were thawing out and trying to make our hair not look quite so much like wet dog hair, they explained the rules: Only books allowed in the line. No gifts, period. I had something very important I wanted to give Sarah, something that I'd written and had brought in a blue folder, but I had to give it to them, and then I saw that they had stashed it and the other gifts under a table. Very confidence-inducing.
Everything moved very very fast, like assembly-line fast, when the signing started. Todd was taking the books and passing them to Sarah. I quickly explained I had something for her and where it was, and he said he'd see that she got it. So nice!

Hey everyone! So I'm the girl in the interview that I posted before lol And I just wanted to tell my story about meeting Sarah and the nice favor she did for me.
So I woke up at 3:40 am and got at the mall at 4:55 and I was about 97th-120th in line outside the Mall of America. I was waiting with my dad who was wearing his Carrharts and I was wearing my snowmobile Arctic cat jacket (it kept me SO warm). So at 6:00 am we got to go inside and get our wristbands! We checked in our books and sat on the floor. I got to meet a lot of cool people and it was just a bunch of fun!
At 7 am my mom arrived and this very nice woman let her get into line with us! So my, my dad and my mom waited in line and talked to people until 11:45 am when Sarah arrived!! She surprised us early and she had Trig, Todd, her mom and dad and her aunt Katie with her. I have a cute video of hyper Trig "waving" to the crowd :) Everyone went crazy and screamed, we were so so excited. People were yelling/singing "I dont know if you been told, but Sarah Palin's Goin' Rogue!!" lol
So we were so excited to see Sarah and Todd! I had my bead book with me with all the fan quotes in it and the bracelets, I really needed to give this letter and book to her but this mean meeeeaaan lady yelled at me "IF YOU WANNA GO ON STAGE GIVE ME THAT BOOK!" I was so so heartbroken that I wouldnt be able to give Sarah this book that I worked so hard on so I threw the fricken book in the basket and walked up the stairs.
I was still happy to see Sarah! She shook my hand after I shook Todd's and she said to me:
"Hi, What's your name?"
Me: "Brittany."
Sarah: "And Brittany, how old are you?"
Me: "Im 18!"
Sarah: "Are you a senior in high school?"
Me: "No, Im actually a freshman in college!"
Sarah: "And what are you studying?"
Me: "Political Science."
She perked up and smiled, "Oh great! We need more like you!"
Me: "Sarah, I actually made something for you, but they wouldn't let me bring it up."
Sarah: "Oh! Well, get Doug... I want to see it."
So I was so happy and I was being pushed off stage. I found some guy on her staff and my mom grabbed my book out of the basket.
This very nice guy on her staff let me go back on stage when I told him that Sarah said I could. He actually escorted me to the front of the line.
I got back up to the table, holding my book and Todd nudged Sarah and pointed to me, he said:
"Oh you got it!!!"
Me: "Yea I got it!"
Sarah: "Hey Brittany!"
Me: "Here, Sarah, this is a book that I put together with little letters to you, and everyone picked a bead to represent their statements."
Sarah: She paged through it and her face was priceless, she was surprised and she loved it. "Thank you! This is great! I can share these bracelets with my girls!"
Me: "Thank you, Sarah!" I smiled.
Sarah: "I love you, Brittany!!!" Shakes my hand again.
At this time I was just pumped when I left and so excited then the FOX news team rushed over to me and asked for a follow up. Overall, It was the BEST BEST BEST day ever! :) Thanks for reading my story you guys! :)
Fun- you can see some of the mannerisms he'd later use as The Master. Although there's still no bettering John Hurt's version in I, Claudius.
pessimisticAlso, RINGLETS! Love 'em! (I noticed them in your video too, trendy_bree.) I hope this is something she does often enough that we can have a tag for it! :-)
